Muitas expressões bastante comuns na língua inglesa que contêm as preposições “in” e “of”. Para aprendê-las, ou apenas revê-las, é interessante reuni-las em listas. É o que você verá a seguir:

1. In favor of
Exemplo: They were in favor of our decisions. 

2. In control of
Exemplo: They should have been in control of their kids. 

3. In memory of
Exemplo: In memory of our grandparents, we put flowers on their grave every year. 

4. In recognition of
Exemplo: I got the prize, in recognition of my contribution to Education. 

5. In the event of
Exemplo: In the event of fire, stay calm and leave immediately. 

6. In pursuit of
Exemplo: Are you spending most of your time in pursuit of money? 

7. In the name of
Exemplo: I have a table reserved in the name of Roberto Santos. 

8. In the absence of
Exemplo: In the absence of opposition, the governor won easily last night. 

9. In the course of
Exemplo: In the course of human events, it becomes necessary to reconsider their values. 

10. In the interest of
Exemplo: We must all work together in the interest of our stability.
