Premiê da Tailândia alerta para novos tremores e decreta estado de emergência em Bangkok

A primeira-ministra da Tailândia, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, declarou a capital Bangkok uma “zona de emergência” após um terremoto de magnitude 7,7 atingir o país vizinho Mianmar, nesta sexta-feira (28), com reflexos na China e na Tailândia. Em Bangcoc, o desabamento de um prédio em construção deixou mais de 40 operários presos e causou a morte de pelo menos três pessoas, segundo autoridades locais.
Shinawatra “instruiu imediatamente o Ministério do Interior a declarar Bangkok uma zona de emergência e a notificar as províncias em todo o país para tratar a situação como uma emergência nacional, permitindo assistência pública imediata, se necessário”, segundo declaração do gabinete.
“A primeira-ministra está retornando a Bangkok imediatamente e pede ao público que evite prédios altos, use somente escadas e permaneça calmo”, continuou o comunicado. “Todas as agências governamentais foram informadas, e as escolas foram instruídas a mandar as crianças para casa mais cedo”.
O governo alertou que mais tremores podem ocorrer nas próximas 24 horas. Um forte tremor secundário de magnitude 6,4 atingiu Mianmar após o terremoto inicial de magnitude 7,7.
